Fissure closed but raw

Postby Okaybum » 03 Feb 2019, 22:10

So I sucked it up and went to a CRS. She examined me then examined with an anoscope which hurt right on the fissure. She apologised for making it bleed. It's small but raw. She asked if I wanted to give it more time or do something. So... I'm on a long wait list to have a fissurectomy, botox, and a colonoscopy all at once. I was also given nifedipine in the meantime.

Quick question, I kept my BM soft for 4 months, no retrears, yet it was still raw. The stool softeners have caused excess gas with my bm, do you think that's contributing to it, or is this a muscle wont allow it to heal thing?

The fissure was sore for days after seeing her. Its improved to the occasional mild stinging. I can definitely feel it now. Any advice? Do you think the botox will help?

Damn Okaybum I am so sorry for your situation. She basically f... up all the work and effort you've been putting in for the last 4 months!
I advise against botox if you already know how to handle it, like you did it already, and IF it doesn't hurt that bad anymore. You basically have to start all over again but it's still better than putting poison in your butt. Leave botox for later.

That's what I thought at the office but I can tell it wasnt reopened, more like an abrasion as I could sit on the toilet without feeling like the pressure would pop it open. So not back to the start, but it did knock me back.

Oddly enough the nifedipine makes me nauseous. I find more relief with nappy rash creams.

The biggest risk is a retear or more fissures. But since there will be a fissurectomy and Botox, i agreed to it

Ideally I hope to heal and not need the fissurectomy but time will tell
