I'm still good and so grateful to my surgeon for getting me through both a LIS and hemorrhoidectomy.
Fissure since about 2007
Fissure diagnosed in 2011
Diltiazem for two years - didn't work well
LIS January, 2015
Hemorrhoidectomy December, 2017

Hello - I have news. i saw a specialist and he examined me and said I have a healed fissure. It has apparently healed well! However, any ideas why this has caused me so much pain for the last six months? He said scar tissue blah blah, keep stools soft and drink alot but no other real advise. He sent me off saying no more treatment to be done! I am better this week and I think not worrying about my appointment has helped. But will I always have pain from this old fissure?
I'm glad to hear most people are doing ok or at least not terribly!

SueMac, do not discontinue what brought you here. This healing is only apparent, as can be confirmed bu tens of people which experienced retears, so keep doing what you've done for at least one more year. Afterwards you might say that you healed for good IF you did not experience any pain or bleeding during this time.
