Return to LIS - Considering surgery or already had it?
by TomatoSoup » 11 Feb 2019, 14:55
Had LIS in August 2018. Surgeon said fissure healed at 3 weeks. Retore at 4 weeks, back to the doctor who confirmed and prescribed nifedipine and seemed kinda shocked that it was back.
6 months later fissure still bleeds during bowel movement 1-2 times a week.
Zero constipation or straining. No idea why my anus refuses to heal fissures even post LIS.

I would suggest asking to get a manometry test done to determine why you're still having problems after the surgery. A second opinion might be helpful as well.

Does is still hurt? it is extremely strange to hear you can have a fissure with no hard stools or straining. What else could cause it?

Many fissures are not caused by anything identifiable. It's not that unusual according to medical literature.
