hi mayiahsmom, i'm sorry that you've been suffering for so long. Don't worry, there's hope still. Are you on fissure-diet now, meaning are you eating foods that produce soft stools? The bleeding and pain can come both from fissures and piles (if you have). Do get yourself checked by a CRS asap, forget about seeing a GP as they are not specialised on anal problems and has no prescription for ointments like GTN/nitro, dilt, etc. Such ointments are trying to achieve the same as LIS, relaxing the anal sphincters so as to bring a good blood flow to the fissure to facilitate healing. However, they are temporary. Thus it's utmost impt that you kick start your healing regime with ointments and soft diet.
Of cos, healing chronic fissures conservatively like yours are slim, BUT it's not impossible. 2 yrs indeed is a long way you have come, and probably is a good candidate for LIS. Read up on dawn, hopetoheal, tonystone, val's posts here. THey had LIS and is better off. If you like to know more abt conservative treatments, read "my success story".
So hang on there, and keep us updated!
