Aloe

Postby flamingo » 03 Jan 2012, 20:34

Just thought I'd pass this along -- I read in some older posts about aloe and I picked up some aloe capsules at the health food store. While I don't know what they will do in the long term, I cut one open and applied the gel and it completely got rid of the burning feeling which nothing else I have tried has been able to do.

yes, flamingo, i kept trying to tell sufferers here that aloe vera is like a wonder product, cos it has partially helped me to heal my fissure! of cos there are also other factors which aid my healing, like making sure stools are always soft, vit c and magnesium oxide for me.
Keep using aloe vera, it wld only do you good!
Also, if you haven't read this, do a search on this thread "my success story"

Flamingo - when you say aloe vera - does it come in a bottle or just caps sweetie? Just wondering where I can find some - I've seen creams that have "aloe" in them , but haven't seen the aloe by itself..
Dwards8 - I will look for your success story sweetie - I need to read and learn from it..
Thanks.. God bless you all

granny, the one i've been using is a pure aloe vera gel that does not contain alcohol. It's very important not to get anything with alcohol when u r applying it to your fissures down there. I once have a very bad experience with Drwheatgrass superbalm and it stings me like hell

Hi Granny - sorry I did not see your post earlier. I also could not find a gel that did not have other things in it, so I have been using the capsules and just making a hole to squeeze out the gel. I bought them in a health food store, but afterwards I saw them in Walmart at almost half the price!
The aloe is very soothing. Hope it helps.

Hey all- I hadn't heard of applying aloe gel directly before though I heard from a fellow sufferer that drinking aloe juice helped her heal up. She recommended Aloe Gold by the Aloe Life company- its available at most health food stores. I bought a jug & drank it dutifully everyday. Didn't feel any noticeable improvements but that was when I was really hurting. It might help to tonify the digestive tract. Also, tastes a bit like pickle juice so maybe applying the gel directly is a better method.

i wonder if anything you eat or drink that gets digested makes it all the way down to the rectal area past the bowels?

In the UK you can buy alcohol free aloe vera gel from Holland and Barratt - I apply this directly to the end of my fissure and it has seemed to make a difference. It also has a nice cooling effect and I believe it has aided my healing.
This is what i use:
