In August, my GP told me I had an infected fissure. Now, in December, my surgeon just told me that the 'infected fissure' is almost certainly an abscess leading to a fistula. Can any fistula sufferers here tell me how they were able to identify fistula abscess vs. infected fissure?
Basically, I have about 1.25 cm x 0.5 CM red and white pussy area on top of some sort of harder, denser normal skin (feels sort of like back of hand as compared to totally soft squishy butt cheek).
I have an MRI on 28 December and then the follow-up visit on 3 January.
