Not sure if this should be in intro or not.
The past few months I've been having some bowel issues. I've noticed by stool becoming more sizable and I was beginning to suffer some painful BMs. After a while, I started noticing little droplets of blood on the paper now and then- bright red blood, like from a nose bleed. Over time, however, it's become progressively worse and worse.
I just got out of the bathroom, having not had a bowel movement for the past two days while shoveling down fiber, drinking lots of water and popping a Dolcalax every morning and evening. I was in there for 25 minutes. Only the first thirty seconds or so entailed actually "going," (and not nearly as much as I expect considering how long it's been) while the rest of the time was spent mopping blood up from my anus. The first tissue also held what looked to be coagulated blood- it was darker and mucus-like, just a tiny bit. Everything after was bright red, fresh. I may actually be still bleeding now, but it seemed to slow down enough that I could come here and look for help.
So, is it normal for someone to bleed this much from a fissure...? I went to urgent care a while back and he told me I had a fissure, that I shouldn't worry about the blood, and gave me a lot of the same information I've found while lurking around these forums before actually making an account. I'm not light-headed or anything, I don't feel weak, I'm just using up a ton of toilet paper and it's a little frightening.
Help...?
