Has to be Herm, beatiful little Island just off Guernsey. Myself and a few friends rent a holiday cottage there for one week every year, we spend the whole week fishing, drinking and talking rubbish.... absolute heaven. No matter how much I love my wife, my children and grandchildren that week without them is wonderful!!
Second place has to be Santorini went there on a cruise two years ago and loved it.

I would say Captain Lawrence Oates (of the "I am going outside and may be some time" quote). Always wondered if I could stand up and be counted if the chips were down.
