Sorry to bring this back up from the dead, but positivesun, did you ever get resolution? This is exactly what is going on with me. How are you now ?

I'd also be interested after finding this thread in whether you felt better and how you managed it as I think I have some of this tightness as well - at least I think I might!

I've had this as well! Sometimes by poor butthole feels like it's trying to make a really tight fist. This generally happens after a BM. This has decreased for me with physical therapy, so I'm guessing it really is a secondary muscle spasm. Another thing I noticed is all the sitz baths and topicals tend to dry me out back there and applying some cool coconut oil to the outside of my butthole when it's especially tight seems to decrease discomfort. :%`+:
Began suffering: 9/6/18
Dx'd with fissure: 9/27/18
Began diltiazem & Miralax: 9/27/18
Began physical therapy: 10/26/18
Acupuncture: 12/08 - 12/22/18
Began nifedapine: 12/29/18
Dx'd with small, superficial abscess, started Cipro & Flagyl: 1/2/19

I like the coconut oil too. I also like the fact that it is a cheap remedy and can't hurt even if it didn't help!

My CRS told me not to do it because he wasn't sure if it would deactivate the diltiazem... But it's really the only topical that helps me!

Ah I hadn’t heard of any interaction with other medicines - I’m not using anything else at the moment but I’ll bear that in mind if I do get prescribed another cream thanks.
