Yes, I think so. Its just such a relief not to be in agony or see copious amounts of blood. Lactulose is amazing, has really helped this whole process.

Hi there, it’s been a few months now. I would love it if you could give a quick update on how you are now? Do you feel healed and back to “normal”?
Are your surgical scars giving you any trouble or did they heal up nicely?

Heya, the bleeding stopped a few weeks ago, I feel so so much better!
It was a rough recovery, I felt awful due to the antibiotics, I had to have an extra week of them. I just needed to lie down all the time, and use a hot water bottle constantly. I really recommend the op, I feel healed and have no problems. I did have to take Lactulose to keep everything soft, I took it for 2 months.

So its been 7 months and I am fully healed. Havent seen blood in about 6 months - still get a bit of pain but nothing like I was getting. I really recommend this operation, it saved me.

If you do get it, please consider using Lactulose, kept everything soft and I really think helped me heal!

Wow thats amazing im also 30s 32 actually and its just such a life sucker isn't it. I want my life back. Just a few questions i have if you don't mind. How long did you have your fissure before the surgery? And was your fissure anterior?

No problem! Yes Anterior, had it for about 10 years - nhs very slow as its not really considered important :(

I had tried loads of creams, two tries of Botox and finally this surgery.

Yes mine is also anterior. Its so hard an anal fissure shoukd be a priority because its one of the most painful things ever plus it destroys your life. Were do you live? Im in New Zealand and need to find a good surgeon the ones I've seen haven't mentioned advancement flap surgery at all. I've had my fissure for 7.5 years it started after i had my first child 7.5 years ago so i understand the long term toll it takes on a person.

I am in the UK. I was going to save up to go private because I was losing blood everytime I used the bathroom.

The gold standard is the LIS, I pushed for this but surgeon felt as I was youngish (31) and no children he didnt want to risk incontinence.
