Drinking alcohol when having a fissure

Postby lars » 17 May 2008, 09:34

Hello everyone
Do some of you drink alcohol even though you have a fissure? Since I am feeling real good today I am considering drikking a little. I am of course scared that it will make things a lot worse.

i think alcohol dries you up inside, even though it may make you feel a bit mellow; so you may want to compensate by drinking more water before and after the drink.
i am not sure how much per alcohol oz. you need to replace it with x number of oz. of water......
i haven't had alcohol in a while and everything has been peachy....

i used to drink a lot. for the first full year of my fissure i was still binging on alcohol at least twice a week. every morning after i drank things would come out nice and easy, but the next day it would be too dry and rip. i've pretty much given up booze now. i'll have a glass of wine here and there but allows follow it up w/ lots of water. i think that helps a lot in the healing. having a fissure is a good alternative to AA. if you're going to drink, like happyass said, make sure you match alcohol with water. it sucks i know.

I am with buttgirl on this one, I can drink beer also. I had Killians and Guiness on St. Patricks Day with no after affects. Wine bothered me alittle, I haven't tried liquor, but I think I will pass.

I have had a little wine. It did not bother me too much, but it made my poo much harder - fortunatly, it came out fine. Just make sure you drink plenty of water.

hey lars,
not sure what you wanted to drink...if it was serious vodka or whiskey or stuff like that or something much lighter like cider ale.
i have some woodchuck cider in my fridge for occasion kick back and that seemed to be okay.
but just make sure to intake a bit more water to offset any dehydrating effects.
