Fissure Surgery/Botox Cream

Postby vdb324 » 24 Feb 2014, 18:01

I just went to stock up on some barrier cream before surgery, and I thought I should probably share with you all this tidbit. After Botox, my skin had a reaction (not allergic), likely to the local anesthetic and a perfect storm from the bowel cleansing and just the procedure inflammation. Basically, I ended up with a very painful red, dry rash. The nurse from the hospital saw me there one day at a check up and gave me a few samples of creams she got at a conference that she thought would be helpful, as she remembered my pain from the last time she saw me. It was the Thera moisturizing cream and the 3M Cavilon Durable Barrier Cream. I think I liked the 3M better, but both gave me relief. Even some days when the fissure starts irritating my skin, after say a walk, I use some of it and usually helps quite a bit. Just thought I'd share.
