:D Hi OMB,
Sorry to hear you've been suffering a while and it does put a dampener on things such as holidays and normal routine because the fact is you are going to have to deal with that on top of the (pleasant) stress of having a holiday.
Just pack your fissure kit up like your wash bag (wipes/ cream/ painkillers) and try not to excessively stress about it all. You can easily replace your stocks of painkillers & wipes over in the US if needs be, the toilets are more than likely to be good and clean than if you were travelling somewhere more remote for example....You could always request cushions on the flight to try and make yourself more comfy and again, you'll probably have access to good wash facilities in your accommodation. Top up with the pain-killers. I wouldn't advocate taking them all the time but if they make you feel better, then you'll feel better and less likely to complain about it so much!....and just be sensible when it comes to eating - Opt for salads/ chicken/ fruits/ fish rather than the burgers/ chips/ deep fried stuff. Even if we go to McDonalds these days, I'll quite happily have a chicken wrap, side salad and bottle of OJ over a burger, fries & coke!
I went to Center Parks (UK) 7 days after Fistula surgery but it was so much better than I could have actually imagined! It also really took my mind of my bum and made me feel so much better in myself for getting away from my home and that bathroom I've spent SO much time in!!..........I went everywhere with a topped up water bottle, packet of baby wipes & painkillers but I was absolutely fine and had the best time I've had this year so far!! The discomfort is there of course but it's also about adopting a positive mental attitude and convincing yourself you will have a good time - no matter what! Have a fantastic time!!!!!!
