Hi all- How would I know if my anal fissure has gotten infected or has turned into an abscess or fistula?
I have been having chills for the past 10 days, which is usually sign of some sort of infection. I have had typical anal fissure pain, nothing more than usual. Though today I noticed my sentinel pile is sore and swollen.
I haven't really considered my fissure to be the cause of my chills, but I am just trying to rule things out.
Info on my fissure: I have had it for at least 5 months and have been treating it with nifedipine for 2.5 months.

Thank you! I still have the chills, but I spoke to my CRS and he said if there is no discharge, mucus, or blood, then its probably not infected.
Im working with my PCP to see what could be causing my chills and low grade fever.
