LIS under local

Postby sweetpea » 17 Oct 2014, 12:04

My CRS does the LIS under local anesthetic. I have only spoken to the front desk so far - the lady says, that's all you need.
I like my CRS and have been with her through it all so far.
But i am worried about this, should i be?

I'm pretty sure Jbl22424 did hers under local. Maybe search her posts for more info. I've read on many CRS websites that they perform LIS under both local and general. When is your surgery?

I had IV sedation and local. Totally fine! I really didn't need the sedation, could have just taken an oral sedative like Valium or halcyon. Consider yourself lucky, general is risky and uncomfortable afterwards where they had the tube in the throat. It can also cause constipation. LIS is really not that major of a surgery. Will it be in an OR?
Developed fissure from constipation due to breastfeeding 7 weeks after delivery (Jan 2014)

Thanks for your reply.

It's an in-office procedure. I don't know what she does. Just that she only does local. I was hoping for propofol which is not constipating.

Fentanyl might be constipating.
