Looking forward!

Postby Bambi » 05 Mar 2011, 22:13

I spent a lot of today just on the couch and I think it really helped my peace of mind and maybe my butt, too! I have been really sleeping well, but by 11 in the morning I could easily take a nap. I don't know if a lot of that fatigue is coming from the general anesthesia, the experience itself and probably a culmination of all the stress of the past year and most likely all of above. Two things that have happened in the past few days have given me something else to focus on than my own butt, however, and I think that is really helping as well. Seeing that this seems to be a road to recovery that calls for patience, I am choosing to stop putting my life on hold and move toward two trips. Hopefully I am not trying to do too much too soon, but it seems like I should be good enough in 2 to 3 months to try these.
My sister called the other day and they want to meet us in Las Vegas on April 28th-May 2nd( a little past 2 months LIS). It would be as much a chance to spend time with her and her husband as anything and I know they would pace themselves for me, even though Vegas always requires a lot of walking just to get from your room to the door of the hotel!
We had originally planned to go to Florida in February, then changed it to April, but then when my 2nd botox didn't do the job and I needed LIS after all we had not been really looking into that anymore. We have a small cabin in the mountains and a year ago I put it on a home exchange site. I have been emailing with a delightful man and his daughter who would like to exchange their high rise , very new Miami apartment near Biscayne Bay for our cabin. So it looks like we will travel to Miami mid May for about 10-14 days(pretty much exactly 3 months post LIS). We would like to explore the Keys as well and just hang out.
Anyway- even if this ends up being a little over-ambitious, I am thinking that at the worst I will have some irritation but will be much more healed. I have already been in Vegas 3 different times with the fissure and managed to not cause myself to get worse (you can eat fairly well at a buffet if you are motivated! Lots of fruit and veggies, oatmeal, etc...). And I managed to drink enough water and all that.
So I just wanted to post that I am feeling like I need to look forward to something and yet do hope I am not trying to do too much too soon.

That sounds great Bambi! You deserve some vacation after the fissure/LIS ordeal! Those trips are 2 months away, so you should be pretty good then. They also give you some motivation to take good care of yourself until then, so that you'll be in good shape to go.
So keep on resting and being patient with yourself and kind to yourself!
Maybe you can plan some things for your trips while you are recovering ... Image

That is exactly what I'm focusing on- it is nice to have something else to think about!
