Meds aren't tolerable & intro (New member)

Postby Ouchie333 » 22 Oct 2018, 14:01

I'm a 35yr female. I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, and the Diltiazem caused my BP to drop. Doctor wants me to try the nitroglycerin one, but my cardiologist hasn't approved it. I've been doing sitz baths a couple times a day, I'm taking Miralax to keep things soft, and I'm using calmoseptine and home made coconut oil suppositories. I'm miserable. I haven't been able to sit comfortably since the beginning of March! I had a hysterectomy, and then emergency surgery 2 weeks later due to hemorrhaging. I almost died, and was in a hospital bed at home for 8 weeks. Then I had terrible vaginal atrophy pain due to surgical menopause. I finally get that doing better, and still can't sit comfy. Now I'm diagnosed with a fissure. I thought it was piles, and was treating for that since Aug. Went to a specialist a week ago. It hurts all the time, but gets way worse with sitting or laying on my back. Surprisingly, BMs don't increase pain, and I have no bleeding. One bleeding spell with a painful BM back in Aug. Any suggestions? Has anyone had success with Estrace cream in that area? I had that suggested in a FB group. I can't have surgery unless absolutely necessary due to bleeding risks. So I really need to get this thing healed!

Are you in a position to get a second opinion? Since BM's don't increase your pain, and it hurts all of the time, it may not be the fissure that is causing the trouble. You could easily have a small fissure (that was seen by the specialist), but that might not be the source of your suffering. If you can see someone else, make sure that they know that you have a fissure, but try to get them to investigate further, to see if they can locate another possible source of the pain.

Ouch333. I have a sitting problem also. It was heightened with miralax or any stool softener/ laxative. Sorry can’t help much but I found this⬇️ helpful to me.
