Movicol/Mirilax vs Lactulose

Postby hopefull » 05 Jul 2015, 16:54

Hi All

Just wondering if there is anyone that as tried both Movicol/Mirilax and Lactulose and if so which they felt produced the most consistently soft stools.

I'm taking Lactulose and while I get soft stools I am prone to the odd hard tip and have to watch my diet like a hawk so that I don't have a tablespoon too much protein otherwise it's not as perfect as I like. Wondering if Movicol will be more resilient to my slight diet variations.

I also take magnesium, does anyone take both Movicol/Mirilax and magnesium?

:thanx:

I have never taken lactulose but do take both miralax and magnesium. From what I have read on here it seems that Miralax is the best there is for consistently soft BMs and safe for long term use.

So I made the switch and so far Movicol is better than Lactulose but that might be because I am probably taking a higher dose as I am having to go a little more often.
