So I had a tailored LIS in 2020 so 6 years and a month ago. In March I started to bleed during a BM and then towards the end of March beginning of April the severe pain and spasms started. I was seen by two CRS, the one who did the first LIS and his partner. They both recommended a second LIS due to rectal spasms and hypertonic rectal tone. I was prescribed nifidpine cream and told it probably would not work. It has been 5 weeks and I still occasionally bleed after the mid BM snap and left with burning for hours before I feel normal in the evening.

I am scared to death to get a second LIS but I don’t want to live with my life on hold. I delayed surgery once and it is scheduled for this coming Thursday. Am I wrong for not wanting to go through with this? Or with the mid BM snap will I never heal and just always retear?

I would be terrified that I would become incontinent if I had a second LIS. Having had my surgery in 2020 as well I can't imagine having to go through it again. I have had a few minor fissures which is normal. But when I have them I immediately do a sitz bath on the toilet and it's gone that day.
