Well I thought I would update my thread. I have been so busy that I haven’t had much time to come on here. I finally took some vacation over the holidays to recharge my battery.
It has been almost 2 years (Jan 2010) since my LIS. I have had no issues from the surgery itself and it was a godsend for me especially after finding out I have Crohn’s and fissures are going to be part of my life it appears. Now if I have one open up it heals quickly and I don’t get the dreaded spasms.
On the Crohn’s front, I am on Azathioprine and Remicade. I think the Remicade is helping. My CRS said all the inflammation is gone from my rear. The seton was pulled from the fistula yesterday and I am getting a Remicade infusion tomorrow. My CRS wanted to pull the seton right before an infusion, since that is the best chance for it to close. So I am hoping the thing will close. These drugs definitely have not been a cake walk. But overall, I think my quality of life has improved since I actually have pain free days now.....
Wishing everybody a happy New Year!
