a pharmacist has compounded nifedipine for me as a cream. However, the nifedipine feels more cold than hot i.e. it does not burn when applied to the fissure, as opposed to the Diltiazem which really burns. hence, it does not feel effective.
I've used both and didn't experience the sort of hot/cold issue you describe. Could that be related to the cream/gel compound being used for the formulation?
In any case -- if one works for you then great...stick with it. Neither is "better" so go with what feels good.
Canadabum I've been using diltiazem for 11 day slowly but surely the fissure began to heal I was at the point where I just had a little bit of discomfort during a bm but then out of no where an with a soft bm the fissure was back why?? Im still using the cream an my bm is soft it was getting better 11days wasted but to square one??
Missymoo - I wish I knew why many of us experience these sorts of setbacks...it is quite common. Clearly the are is quite delicate and prone to tears or abrasions. I've had my fair share and quite frankly that is why I am now likely opting for LIS. Even with all good habits and keeping it soft I still deal with these sorts of setbacks. Don't lose hope -- you are on a path and not back at square one.
