First poop after surgery--not too bad

Postby Hatetopoop » 12 Jan 2014, 10:46

I'm so relieved I finally pooped today--2nd day after surgery! At first, I was worried i had two pebbles come one and then a while later, another. I was worried I was constipated but then a while after my juice, it came out nice and soft! No big deal! However, now I am a bit sore and uncomfortable. It's sore to sit and I can feel soreness when I walk but nothing like I had with the fissure! I am contemplating taking something for the pain but do not want to get constipated, nor do I want to go back to sleep. I am getting tired of the bed...lol. Anyhow, thought I'd share. I've been eating soups, soft foods, lentils, and some black beans, rice, and yuca. I've been taking a fiber and stool softener 2x per day. I drink fresh squeezed juices with aloe juice as well. I am still bleeding a bit from my tag removal. Have been doing my sitz bath after my BM. So so far so good...and I had a fissuretomy, LIS, and three tag removals so given the extent of my surgery I think I'm doing pretty well! There is hope for me! I hope this will help those who are terrified as I was of surgery and know that it can be done. Good luck to you all. Will be posting with updates this week.

Great news! A lot of people say the worst part of their surgery is dreading that first BM. So, it's kind of a milestone that helps you feel relief in terms of progress. Wishing you a speedy, uneventful recovery with angel soft poo the whole way through.

:)
