Hope

Postby Annette24 » 15 Jan 2014, 16:31

Hi

I just wanted to post this to give people hope without botox or surgery, I was diagnosed with an anal fissure one year ago, and I have had a year of severe pain and spasms and feeling like I could not carry on like this, I have turned down botox and stuck with diltazem cream for a total of 16 weeks , religiously taking movicol every night, using dr wheatgrass cream every day . I have been pain free for 6 weeks now, I have seen my consultant today who is pleased that all is better and everything is good, so pleased I persevered, not saying I don't watch what I eat and I am always careful and probably will be forever, cos I can't go back, please don't feel there is no hope , even when you feel all is lost, good luck .....

Thanks Annette24 for your encouraging post. I am almost a year into enduring this and am feeling better--but not nearly where I need to be yet. I have also been using diltiazem and dr. wheatgrass as well as taking a variety of supplements. Did you use diltiazem for 16 straight weeks--or was it at different intervals for a total of 16 weeks? How often did you apply each? Did you alternate the wheatgrass with the diltiazem? How much did you apply? Would you describe your healing as very gradual--or was it more of just one day everything just seemed normal again? When you say you are pain free, do you mean that everything feels normal again--or you are just no longer experiencing any pain? What else did you do/use(besides movicol/diltiazem/wheatgrass)? Do you have any other advice? I want to continue to persevere--but it's getting harder!

Hi
I took diltazem for 16 weeks with no breaks, when I first started using it I would just put the cream around the outside, but after researching and speaking to others I used a little tube that u get with haemorrhoid cream which you screw on to the end of the cream and I would use this internally twice a day religiously , I found when I did this I saw a change for the better, I would use the wheatgrass at lunchtime and before bed and diltazem morning and tea time, The healing has been gradual, and there has been setbacks, but each setback I have bounced back quicker and less painful. I feel I am fissure free , no pain, spasms or bleeding, I also took vit e capsules which I was told would help,I took movicol when at my worse one satchet in morn and one eve, I now still take one at night and I will continue to do so, my consultant says that's fine - until you have had this horrid thing you have no idea how much it rules your life, good luck you will get there.
