Side effects of Rectogesic

Postby Please help!! » 09 Jun 2013, 02:40

Hi all I was hoping for some advice, I have been using Rectogesic for about a month nearly every day and always every night. Up until now only side effect has been the headaches but last couple days I have had this strange feeling of pressure like I need to pee or poop, i have to really consentrate when I pee. Has anyone else experienced this? It's really uncomfortable!! Thanks all x

My fissure is also affecting my urination. I think its the spasms, not the nitro. Anyway, you can read about it in my thread if you want :-)
- Fissure developed in Jan '13
- Started rectogesic in Feb '13 and diltiazem Apr '13.
- Got botox Jun '13
- Healed by Okt '13, although I still had some irritation for about a year.
- New fissure April '22, healed June 2022
- New fissure 24. December 2023

Yeah, me too! It makes me crazy! That weird pressure: i have a theory as to what it is: i think its the pressure sensors in your abdomen getting thrown off by your sphincter pressure. Its making your pelvic floor weird. That or its your sphincter spasmed when you tried to poop this morning, so you couldnt get it all out, and now its making everything weird. I dont know which theory is correct, but thats my educated opinion.

Totally agree with you! I think it's a combination. Rectogesic is some strong stuff, it's also used for people with heart attacks! So I havnt used any last night or today and I'm feeling better-the weird pressure feeling has almost gone.. Oh man this is such a waiting game! The dragons blood has been omg amazing! I was actually able to leave the house today! Although I'm weak and tired as I havnt been able to get out of the house let alone walk around the house in 2-3 weeks! Dragons Blood=my saviour! LIS is still booked for end of next week and ATM the waiting game is on, I'm so unsure whether to have the LIS... Such strong pros and cons for both ahh!
