Cannot pass gas?

Postby msimon » 11 Aug 2014, 20:30

Just wondering if anyone else has a hell of a time getting any gas out. I feel like it comes down, puts pressure on the fissure and goes back up for hours at a time. I cannot get it past what I guess is a tight sphincter? I tried nifedipine but it really doesn't work even sometimes may make it worse? I hope all this pressure isn't harming my fissure. It feels like hell :(

Hi,

Yes often with gas I have a pressure/burning sensation that builds up. Once I have passed the gas the pain eases somewhat. Seems that my rectum/muscles are hypersensitive to any stimulus!

Since I got this problem 10 months ago it has been almost impossible to pass gas. In the early stages of this problem I used to be able to sit in a hot bath and I could release some of it, but now I can't even do that anymore.

The weirder thing (and sorry I'm getting into gross talk here) is that over the past 10 months I have never passed gas that made a sound. It's almost like the muscle isn't functioning properly anymore.

I get this too! Although my CRS said recently I don't have a fissure or anything actually wrong (I think I will be getting a 2nd opinion)
