HELP - Diltiazem cream!

Postby Lucy1028 » 17 Sep 2014, 12:42

:thanx: Hi guys.

Please help me, I'm having a meltdown! I only started using this cream a couple of days ago as it took my pharmacist ages to get this stuff for me. Has anyone ever forgot to put it back in the fridge? I rushed out to work this morning and totally forgot! Does that mean it's no good anymore? I hope not, it was a real pain to get hold off and will be so annoyed if I have to stop the treatment! It took my hospital consultant about 7 months to decide I had a fissure!

Thanks in advance

Thank you - The consultant told me that if it was not in the fridge, it would go off! It does say on the container, do not store over 25 degrees so should be ok in theory!

Thanks for your reply

I never refrigerated mine either. It was compounded with some kind of grease, and would have been impossible to get out of the container if it had been cold!

The flip side was applying it when I was camping in Southern Utah, and it had got incredibly runny - I squeezed just a little, and a river of the stuff came out and made a greasy stain on my trousers!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Hi. Well my cream is not greasy at all, it's quite watery and fluffy! I'll just assume it's ok! Not sure how I'm supposed to tell if it's gone off though. To be honest, I'm not filled with confidence anyway! Cheers
