I think it's a good idea to get rectal bleeding checked out by the doctor, especially if it's unusual for you. But I agree with Apes - if it wasn't painful, it could be an internal hemmie rather than your fissure opening.
Personal note: I never had/noticed any blood ever with my fissure.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
