Also check out this one in Australia. Is a last resort I suppose but outlines the pudendal nerve release surgery.

Alyssa, well I spoke to my pain specialist about this on Tuesday. His thoughts were that i would have pain in other locations beside the rectum if I had true pudendal neuralgia. He said I would have pain into the perenium, genitals etc.

He thinks the nerves involved for deep rectal pain(pelvic floor) are t10-t12 or the sacral nerve roots. Now on my MRI scan everything looks normal. I think it must be the nerves aren't functioning correctly from all the sensitization with the surgeries down there.

Now then I went on and said to him "but the pudendal nerve runs through the pelvic floor" He said "yes, runs through there but doesn't innervate this area, pudendal nerve effects lower down such as genitals, perenium etc."

If tests can give a false negative then how do doctors determine if a person has this condition?
