How to prevent re tears??

Postby Fissurefrustration » 12 Nov 2014, 09:35

Hi everyone,

I was wondering once everything is healed the area where the fissure originally was would be vulnerable to further tears. How can we prevent this from happening? Is there a way to strengthen/thicken the liking of the anal wall to stop the fragile skin re tearing? Any creams etc?

Any thoughts would be great.

Suffering since June 2013

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

Wouldn't that be great? A cream to strengthen the skin would be fantastic. If you are a woman in menopause, wound healing can be delayed by lack of oestrogen, and you could ask for oestrogen cream. That's the only one I know of.

Other than that, it seems you have to be vigilant with keeping stools soft, never straining, never getting constipated.

If anyone else has answers, bring them on!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

I always thought in theory honey would be good but to be honest it's not helping my chronic fissure heal over to start with!

I know I'm looking very much ahead with strengthening the lining of the anal wall but hey a guy can dream right? I'd love to look 10 years ahead and see how I am... TBH had a bad day today all I did was put my foot up on a ledge to tie my laces and that simple act of swinging my leg up felt like my fissure doubled in size. sharp stabbing with a ripping feel!! :groan:

1. Stay away from steroidcreams. I got this because of a hemmie, and it made the skin thinner.
2. Even after I'm 'healed', I use the finger pressure point when i poop. This helps alot.
