Menstral cycle

Postby momof3beauties » 16 Mar 2015, 21:52

Hi there,

Does anyone's fissure seem to get a little worse during that time of the month? Mine seems to really bother me right now and I'm day one of my period. Oh the joys of being a woman :-/

Yes, it seems to be pretty common, from posts I've read here. I can't say I've noticed it though. Sorry you are having a rough time.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

I have been suffering off and on from AF's for two years... had a recurrence today:( So painful...Long story short, I seemed to have made progress over the past 2 years in managing things...with fewer and fewer episodes (almost enough for hope), But after today's recurrence (the worst in over a year) I have realized only commonality is that any recurrence is associated with menstruation. Despite tons of water, stool softeners, my fissure friendly diet remaining consistent, menstruation seems to aggrevate, it is the only common thread. Does anyone know more about this? I'm not sure if it's the upset stomach, hormones. For me the cramping associated with menstruation seems to make me force bowel movements. I'm so sad...but just looking for any insights
