Making my own coconut oil suppositories

Postby hurtinend » 13 Apr 2015, 19:59

Ok so I made my own coconut oil suppositories. Thanks to suggestions here and on the net this is what I came up with and it works great.

Ordered the following from Amazon: HIC Silicone Water Bottle Ice Cube Tray. Only $6.00 CDN

Melt a few tablespoons of oil in a glass measuring cup with pour spout. Pour the liquid oil slowly into the tray slots, the slots are long and thin.

Carefully transport to fridge or freezer to set. Once set cut the long oil strips into suppositories. Place them in a bag or container in fridge or freezer.

I tried it today and it works great just be sure no sharp edges before insertion.

Wow, thanks for the details! I am unclear on how a suppository would help a fissure though (other than lubricating for a BM), unless it is further in?

good point - I use it mainly for lubrication, and trust me it works. It melts very quickly so i think some oil still coats the lining just inside the opening. I figure it cant hurt, lol.

Yes, I think that would be helpful, especially if you are going to have a more firm/dry start to the BM. Great idea!
