Sorry to have so many questions keep popping up ;)

Did you have any side effects? Like typical 'estrogen' side effects? Such as, swollen or sore breasts?

Can I ask which oral contraceptive you are taking? Did you find anything in your research to suggest long term oral contraceptives impair wound healing?

Did you notice a difference in the skin itself from using the topical estrogen? Maybe even in the surrounding area?

That is so interesting that they used to use it in face creams! The Doctor that prescribed it for me used it as hand lotion! And this was recently! She said it made her skin so nice and smooth :)

Whew! Lotta questions :)
I don't mind at all!
No, no side effects. I'm not sure the dose was high enough, or maybe using it on the anus keeps the effect local?
I'm on Yasmin, which is drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol. I have not found anything about oral contraceptives and wound healing. The main article I read about estrogen and wound healing was this one:
http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/518427_3

I can't say I noticed a change in the skin other than the soreness eventually going away. It didn't seem to change in thickness or flexibility. Not sure I would have noticed though. I did consider using the cream on a crack I always get on my thumb in the dry winters here. I might try that next year!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
