best ointment?

Postby soey » 08 Jul 2015, 11:24

Does Anyone have any idea What kind of ointment I can use to make my stool slide out more easily? Some kind of oil? My fissures are healed after LIS, hemmies gone, but the skin right inside my Anus ha gotten extremely thin and fragile after the use of steroid creme..
So the pain Is basically because of the skin being fragile -.- how long Will it take before it gets back to normal? Im thinking. . A long time.. hoping someone has advice :) maybe vazeline?
Thanks :)

There on many on here that swear by coconut oil. It's also the only thing that doesn't burn me when things are really bad.

May I ask what your menstrual status is Soey? Like do you take oral contraceptives? Are you pre or post menopausal? I wonder if hormone therapy may help your fragile skin...

I'll give coconut oil a try :)
I'm actually going to see a specialist in august about that! Mostly because most of my pain comes about 10 days before my period. And a whole lot of other problems around that time :( Im 27, So no menopause yet. Oral contraceptives? :O im not taking anything at the moment.
I Just know that I keep getting more and more problems.. ulcer, vaginal infections, you name it.. life seems Pretty brutal at the moment!

Can I ask how long you've been suffering, msimon? I Just know you and I have been here for quite some time now!
Thank you for always responding So quickly! :)

Hi Soey, if you can get your doctor to prescribe Estrace (an oestrogen cream) to put on your anus I do recommend it. It's usually used vaginally, but my OB-GYN was happy to let me use it to complete my healing. I just put it on the external anus. Oestrogen is really good for the skin.

Also, you can try oiling yourself from the inside, so to speak, by taking a mineral oil. I recommend kondremul which is an emulsion, mixes well with stool, is pleasant to taste and softens and lubricates stool amazingly well. I've been told one shouldn't take it long term, and don't take it last thing at night (if you lie down with it in your oesophegus you could inhale some). I took it for several months and found it absolutely reliable as a softener. You can order it from a pharmacy or Amazon. I just saw you are in Norway though - don't know if it's available there.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Thank you So much! I actually found something simular, but dont need a prescription for it. Oestrogen cream, Is it Only for external use? And can I use it with coconut oil or Is that gonna get me in trouble ? It feels really dry and irritated in there.. BOTH in my Anus and vaginal area actually.. And after my surgeon did a minor dialation, my skin tags get So swollen as soon as I walk more than ten feet ARGH :(

I visited a gastro enterologist about 15 days ago and he prescribed me a mixture of Nitrogesic and Ruticool. He also prescribed me to use cremaffin+ till I am in pain. Once healed, I need to replace cremaffin+ with FreeGo bulk forming laxative. I made a slight change here by not using cremaffin+ at all. I have a wonderful ayurvedic practitioner in my city who prescribed me 2 medicines simply to make my digestion better. A combination of the ointment and the ayurvedic medicine has worked wonders for the past 15 days so far. I am a chronic patient of anal fissure but every doctor I have visited has advised me against surgery. They say this is a lifestyle disorder and it is not a good idea to go under the knife unless you have looked at every trick in the book.

Hi Soey, yes Oestrogen should be taken externally. I don't see any harm in mixing it with coconut oil. However, your anal skin can get irritated by all the creams we put on it. It's probably best to use one thing, and don't add another until you know the first one does not irritate you. That way, if you get a rash or itch, you can tell what caused it.
