Diltiazem 2% cream

Postby Ringbot » 29 Jul 2015, 18:47

I was recently prescribed diltiazem cream and the information I have found suggests applying roughly 1 inch internally and externally. However has anyone else found the cream to be very runny so measuring is difficult?

Apply a pea sized amount, outside is fine no real need to put it inside.

Shouldn't be too runny, mine is like a cream consistency

Ok, mine definitely has a watery consistency, but I have discovered that others have found this too! Maybe they are prepared slightly differently.

I've had two lots both supplied by different companies. The first cream was somewhat thick and the cream i'm using now seems quite watery, so yeah. It can differ slightly. I was told by my CRS to apply it outside. Putting it inside can cause aggravation to fissures when you stick your finger in so don't worry about getting it right up there.

I was also told not to put it inside. It does what it has to do when rubbed gently on the outside. Mine is also a very thick cream.

Thick sounds as if it is petroleum jelly base, while the more runny is some other. Mine was the some other, and had to keep it in the fridge. Absolutely no need to put it inside. It works through the blood stream.
