Slow BM

Postby Cjs » 23 Aug 2015, 02:41

Does anyone know reasons for during a BM, a stool comes out so slowly it seems to stop?
This is a set back i get from time to time and cant figure it out. Is it that area is not elasticated enough now?
This is one of my set back issues.
Also usually i manage to regain healing to a point where it does seem healed only to then feel this tightness and i have applied biooil and H fissure to no avail. The dr says this is my stools to large but i dont think i could get trough the day on any less food!
Any ideas greatly received on both these points.
Thanks

Do you eat a lot of fibre? Are you taking a fibre supplement? If so, this may be too much bulk. Do you take a stool softener?

I don't know what laxido is. I am in Canada and have never heard of it. What is in it? Dietary fibre can do the same if you are consuming too much. How much fibre do you think you get in a day?

I have always had slow evacuation, both now (after LIS) and before, even when my stool was softer than soft. It seems to me, that my "thrust" only works on short segments of poop (doesn't matter if it's narrow or really wide though), and if that first thrust doesn't get the entire length out, it will just sit there. I then have to either push hard (which I really don't want to do), or wait patiently for another thrust to materialize and then get it out. I have no idea what causes this though, so can't help with a solution. At least you can know that you're not alone though.

Maybe you need something more stimulating like a Magnesium supplement...

I have been taking magnesium for a long time, and it doesn't seem to have made a difference in my bowel life, but hopefully it will help you, Cjs.
