Bottom misery

Postby brokenbottom » 05 Feb 2016, 11:33

Hello all!
It's been good to find this forum and not feel so alone. I've been having serious pain, probably caused by an AF, for over four months now. Haven't had a pain-free day in that time - just bad days and terrible days. This is one of the latter where the pain that kicks in after a BM lasts right through the day. Haven't been able to sit or walk properly all day and spent the morning in bed crying. What a grim affliction made worse by the fact it's hard to talk openly about it.
I've got a date lined up for endoscopy and botox in two weeks' time. Glad something is happening but not feeling too hopeful really. And scared too. Just want to be normal again!
Suffered acute AFs since about 2010
2015 Chronic AF diagnosed
18/2/16 Botox (unsuccessful)
12/4/16 Lateral anal sphincterotomy and removal of polyp and two tags

Hi and welcome to the forum!

So sorry to hear of your suffering. You have found the right place. You are so not alone with this! Butt problems are so common but, sadly, people just don't talk about them and we all suffer in silence. I did, until I found this place.

Glad you found us. Do have hope, this forum is full of so many stories of healing. It can be your story too! Keep us posted on how things go for you.

Thanks very much for your reply! Apart from the pain, one of the worst things about this is how hard it is to talk about, so this forum is a blessing.
I've got my surgery lined up for later this week so I'm just praying that will be a step forward. Will let you know!
