Colonoscopy and Anal Fissure?

Postby LemonPink » 16 Jun 2016, 11:48

I've had a problem with fissures my whole life which are made worse since having my baby almost 2 years ago (in my early 30s). One came back and I can see it when I look but I am going to get a colonoscopy just incase. Any recommendations for surviving prep or the colonoscopy with a fissure?? Thanks!

To be honest it hurts...i have to have another one soon...but if you are careful what you eat for the day before then it's not horrendous
Put some barrier cream on the fissures if you can, Vaseline, castor oil, zinc and castor oil something like that to protect it a bit. But unfortunately nothing will stop the spasms
If the colonoscopy is just for the fissures and not for any other reason, maybe give it a second thought as the procedure itself can stretch the fissure. My CRS advised me to wait until after my Botox to have a colonoscopy for my crohns
