Hello
I have been suffering from fissures since November 2015. I have been on high fiber diet and nifedipine (GTN). I have seen same CRS for 4 times since February of this year. Each visit he tells me the fissure is getting better. Last visit was on aug 1st and he said the fissure was still there but it is epitheliazing. Which means skin is starting to come over it. The post bm pain is still severe but doesn't start an hour or so after bm. I noticed that the pain is severe during hot and humid day. We are having a hot summer in North east US.
He suggested surgery may not be needed unless i want to just get over the pain. He seems to think the fissure will heal on its own. I am not sure why he thinks i can go without surgery.

I didn't have surgery. Just eventually healed on its own without surgery.

Thank You! That was very encouraging. How exactly do the self-dialators help? My CRS hasn't discussed that with me.
