LIS in 2 days. Remove skin tag or not?

Postby Happyending » 20 Sep 2016, 12:17

So I am scheduled for LIS in two days from nowhere my AF. I have a skin tag that sometimes get irritated, but removal is optional. The doc said she normally makes the LIS incision on the right, to avoid the hemorrhoid that we all apparently have on the left. My skin tag is on the top left, and fissure on the bottom. While skin tag removal could yield some benefit I am wondering if I should go for it, because I would have a wound on all sides.
Also, the skin tag will not be stitched after removal, but left open. Scary!
Any thoughts or experiences to share?

Hi happy,
I'm due for LIS soon and my surgeon wants to remove my two skin tags so I would be really interested to see if you have yours removed how your healing goes as I'm pretty against having them done but the surgeon thinks it will help the fissures heal quicker and stop any discomfort later on
Fingers crossed for your speedy recovery

I did not get the ski tag removed. I wanted to concentrate on healing fissure, the skin tag is 15 years old and the worst it does is itching sometimes when it gets really sweaty. A shower, or some lidocaine takes care of that either. It just wasn't wort it to me to take the extra injury. Again, it was completely unrelated to the fissure, as it was probably from an older fissure 15 year s ago that healed itself. Mypoorbutt, did you have your surgery as well and how did you decide?
Fyi, I will post my LIS experience on another thread.
