Pain relief

What are the best pain meds for pelvic and anal aches and pressures?? Not keen on having muscle relaxers.

My problem is caused by stress and is a mind body thing. I need something to help with the ache throb and burning pain caused by my internal anal sphincter in a chronic constant spasm. I'm off to the docs tomorrow to ask for some relief. I'm currently on sertraline for the depression and to help with the obsession. The tension is caused by me obsessing if that makes sense. But anyway some pain relief would be helpful. I have had this on and off for 6 years and never really had anything for the pain

Hi,
I don't know if your in the UK but amytriptilline is an antidepressant that is often used to treat irritable bladders and chronic anal fissures as....and please bear in mind I'm trying to remember what my dr said....it stops the burning signals shooting from the nerves so it's often helpful in the conditions.
I don't know if you could take it alongside what your already on but it's worth asking about.
Hope you find some relief

I was on that originally for this problem and it made no difference. It's more for nerve pains. Mine is a muscular cramp

I think I may have to use a muscle relaxant as I have had this for such a long time. I'm paranoid I will become addicted and they will make me feel dizzy. I still want to live my life. A tens machine masks my pain briefly

Have a word with your dr I have a friend who has serious back spasms from an accident and she has low dose relaxants everyday, she still works and lives her life. Have you tried CBD oil....it helped my IBS for quite a while but it's very expensive...I know lots of people with MS swear by it.

It's cannabidiol oil...from the hemp plant it is totally legal and contains no THD there are lots of places that sell it but if you want a good quality it's expensive...but it does work for lots of things. It taken orally and a good site will let you contact them and tell them what your symptoms are as there are different strengths.
