Doctor said I had a small "external hemorrhoid tag" and no fissure. Still don't understand why my anus aches all day after moving my bowels. I've been using a bidet sprayer for years and not had much of a problem. The last few months have been hell!!! It's been a constant ebb and flow. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have tried every cream, ointment, home remedy, I only use water to clean after BM. I eat a good diet with plenty of fiber. My stools are consistently soft and relatively easy to pass. Idk if I need a second opinion. This little tag has given me problems in the past but lately it's just relentlessly pissed off? I feel just a constant soreness and have a lot of trouble sitting. Maybe been sitting too much? I am currently a student. I'm becoming hopeless and just am at the end of what I can take with this whole thing. I feel like there is no solution. And just yesterday I felt things were just returning to "normal". I have 2-3 bowel movements a day typically.

Is this hemorrhoid pain? Does cold water from sprayer make it worse? I'm going absolutely nuts!!! Someone please HELP!!!

I've read a lot about people's experiences with skin tags on here and I can definitely relate. Mine has been bothering me on and off for the past few months. Just sitting seems to aggravate it sometimes. Again, I don't know what to do. I have read about people getting them removed, but the prospect of that terrifies me. Also, I usually don't have much of a problem with it. Further, I know some people advise against it because you then have an open wound and the wound can reoccur or cause more scarring. Idk if this is partially psychosomatic or what, I just feel so anxious and tense as soon as the dull, aching, sore feeling pops up. Is it possible I have been misdiagnosed twice? I have taken many good looks down there and I just see a little tag (reddish) and what appears to be normal anal tissue (hemorrhoid plexus). Nothing looks that irritated or raw.

Please can anyone relate?

What kind of doctor told you that you didn't have a fissure? If it was just a family doctor, I would definitely seek a second opinion. Did that doctor use a finger to go up inside and have a feel around, or just assume that the only thing troubling you was the tag that they could see externally? I hope that you can see someone else to confirm (or deny) the last doctor's diagnosis. Many fissures, if not most, are internal, and cannot be seen by anyone from the outside.

Thanks for the reply chachacha. Yeah it was a family doctor and he did do a digital exam. It was quite uncomfortable, but not terrible. Felt a bit sore after. His rationale was to check for any internal hemorrhoids, of which he found none. I've never really had any bleeding. He knows my history and I mentioned I did have a small fissure many years back which I believe left this tag. He was pretty adamant that there was no fissure. I know he could be wrong.

If I go to a specialist will they do anoscope? I'm a bit frightened by invasive procedures, I don't want to make things worse. When I first started having anal pain I was already seeing a Gastro doc and he's the one who said I had a "small tear" which I take to mean fissure. I believe it was rather superficial and below dentate line. Not positive on that would have to take a look at my health history.

I know I should probably go see a specialist. I've been relatively pain free for many years and if I still have a fissure it would be a chronic one. (which I know is common). I don't seem to have the cardinal symptoms of an active fissure, however I know those are different for every person. Hey maybe I'm just in denial idk.

I'll see about a specialist and I would also like to see my health history in more detail.

I didn't have a lot of bleeding with my fissure, but that could have been because it was surrounded by hemorrhoids. And it was the CRS doing the digital that confirmed the fissure (because I screamed very loudly when he found it). I then tried the creams and other treatments, but when those failed I had a flexible sigmoidsocopy, and that showed the CRS exactly what it looked like (it also gave us a look at the papilla there as well). I didn't have any pain with the scope though, other than a minor bit of discomfort when they turn it around to come back (and I was warned about that as they did it). The digital exam, when he pressed on the fissure, caused a lot of pain though, that lasted for the rest of that day.

I think that a trip to a specialist is important, especially because you are in constant pain now.
