How long does it take to heal anal tag excision site post-op

Postby Intobetterdays » 14 Jan 2017, 20:20

I had a Fissurectomy, haemmorendectomy and anal tag removal (one) done on 26Nov 2016. I'm pain free by gods grace, but still have a minor sting post BM. My question is about the tag removal site - how long does it take to heal? My stools are super soft and blood free. BUT I occasionally notice some blood on the dressing. It makes me feel discouraged and hopeless. Anyone have gone through it, if you could provide some insight, that would be tremendously helpful! It's been 8 weeks, and my doctor had said I shoulda have healed in 7-8 weeks. How much longer does it really take? :thankyou:

I had LIS surgery on 10/28 the incesion site hasn't healed and bleeds every day. My doctor said it could take 6 months. I've given up on trying to heal it.

Thanks. That's what I'm seeing online too. Are you using any creams or dressing? How about laxatives or stool softners? Thanks for your response!! Really appreciate it.

I tried doing baths a diazepam. I thought I was having success for a week. Then I went on a road trip and it started bleeding again from sitting in the car. I wish the doctor could just put a stich or something to shut the cut

I see. Yeah, it sucks and is demotivating. I've read a lot of success stories where they heal in 3-6 months, so maybe we should just hang in there. It's super frustrating though :/ Good luck to us!
