Post LIS

Postby Sorebunny » 28 Feb 2017, 00:54

Hi there!

I had the LIS op last Thursday and went home Saturday. The pain on my fissure has subsided. My CRS told me he had removed a couple of hemorriod too.

It has been Day 5 post op, how come the swelling down there never improve? And i think it gotten worse today. I have been having BM regularly, in fact quite a few times a day. Is this making it swell? Or i have the hemorriod again?

Sigh. When is this going to end? I will only be seeing my CRs next week.

Thanks!

Hi sorebunny. Are you taking medicines to ease the swelling? My swelling lasted 2 weeks.

Thanks for replying. My doctor prescribed: Daflon 500mg 2 tablets twice a day. Axcel 400mg 3x a day. Celebrex 200mg twice a day. And Forlax a sachet before bedtime.

That is it. No cream and nothing to apply on. The pain is subsiding but the swelling parts look like new problem to me. I hope they go away soon.

The sitz bath helps a lot especially each BM.

If I recall correctly, my swelling increased for the first week and then gradually subsided over the next two. I did develop a few skin tags from the surgery though, and that is also normal.

I have always thought of edema as swelling from fluid retention, like one would get in the ankles and sometimes hands, but it could refer to all swellings (I'm not a doctor though, so I'm not 100% sure).

Day 7 post op. My stool is becoming more solid with no diet changes. The after BM brought back the intense pain on scale 10. Why why why?  The swelling still there but not that painful. It is the BM time.... is it fissure related? Healing? Or what.

I was getting cheerful over the progress I made. Today setbacks are really demotivating.
