Owwie #2, I think I spoke too soon...

Postby Guest » 24 Mar 2008, 16:30

Hello,
Kate had metioned she had a tough time after eating fiber bars. Well I agree with her. I have been eating fiber bars also and I had cranberrys last night (big mistake) I had a toilet bowl full of blood this morning. Not a lot of pain though. OMG! I called my CRS and he said to start using Nefedipine 3X a day again to see if that helps. He was not to concerned, and said this is not unusual, but after a week to call him if I don't stop bleeding. I think that combination of cranberries and fiber bar did me in. Oops won't do that again. Back to the mushy diet for a couple of days. I have MOM, but I am so scared to take it.I take Colace every night, should I stop that if I take the MOM? Just wondering. I think I will drink a little extra prune juice tonight instead. I am pretty good with my diet so I will have to start a bad list. LOL.
Take Care,
Patty

ahh patty, i'm sorry!! i hope things get back on track soon, you were doing so well after the botox!

i took up to 3 stool softeners a day, along with the MOM every night. no problems with using both. recently i've stopped w/ the softeners and just use MOM and it's about the same.

Thanks Juney,
I am going to try just a little MOM and see what happens. I am not to concerend right yet but I have to give myself some time. I only had a little pain, but alot of blood. Maybe I will take a nice long bath tonight and relax and stay on the mushy diet for a few days. Thanks again.

I am soo sorry Patty - I wish you took that third Botox : (( to seal the deal as you planned. Fissures are just relentless and don't assume it is gone if you have even slightest discomfort. I can only imagine how disappointed you are - now you have to start all over :( :( :( !!!
I hope you are not at least in much pain  ...

How dissappointing and frustrating, hope this is just a minor setback and you get back on track soon.

Yeah, just get back to the basics. Use a tiny bit of MOM. I mean a very small amout for a few days to kind buy some time for the fissure to heal.

I have to keep reminding myself that it takes a year for that area to regain strength and elasticity. I have had problems with fiber/protein bars too. Luna bars even.

Don't get down. In a few days it will be better but maybe another botox round might not be a bad idea.

Love ya!

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words....
I am feeling better today. No blood at all thank god.
Lecia, You are right back to basics, I didn't stray far from my diet but I was adding some new things. I guess you learn by trial and error.
Fissy, I don't think I have to start all over. When I cancelled my Botox I was having no pain at all. Perfect BMs. We also had a snow storm that day and that whole week I was sick with the flu. It wasn't meant to be. But I will consider a third one if needed at least the weather is getting nicer. Thanks for the encouraging words. You are so caring.
Kim, you know me I hate to see that blood, but I remind myself about what you told me along time ago. The Af rears its ugly head once in awhile.
Buttgirl, yup I will probalby end up with a third shot, my CRS wants me to give myself a week with my diet and creams to see what happens. He os so calm and cool about things and I freak out when I see blood lol.
Thanks again to everyone, you guys are the reason I am where I am today becauae of all of you..
