Silvadene

Postby Pokey » 22 Jun 2017, 16:52

My CRS is now recommending that I use Silvadene for my fissure. Ive been using calmoseptine to help with healing. I really dont think Silvadene will be the magic bullet. It seems I can't find the right combination of Miralax v colace, hydration level, diet to make this damn fissure go away for good. I'm really tight down there and its difficult day after day to have the right amount of stool softness and size. I had an LIS in 2003 and did well until this past year. Anyway, has anyone here used Silvadene on their fissure and did it help? A lot, not much, a little bit???

it's an antibiotic ointment, not sure how it would help a fissure although some have used Polysporin which is an anti bacterial ointment, with some success.

What have you got to lose?

I wish you healing.

I don't know it will help either. Making me think I need to see a different CRS. He put me on Miralax, took me off and put me on colace and calmoseptine and now I'm being told to go back to Miralax and try silvadene.
