Good Morning all :-)
I'm Rob 47yr old in the uk, have suffered a great deal in the last 20 odd years, had the surgery in my twenties not very successfully. I've come on this forum many times over the years and have always wondered.
WHY THE HERON PICTURE? am I missing something? Now I'm not saying lets have a pic of a sphincter but theres gotta be a reason for that picture.
Ive recently been referred for surgery again because I'm having far to much time off work, to be fair I'm realising now just how much this has affected my life over the years and I've had enough. I started diltiazem hydrochloride cream a week ago. First few days it was very uncomfortable but now seeing improvements in both the fissure and the itching and pain caused by the cream.

Anyway, Why the Heron?

I've always thought it's a calming picture so one can think of something else besides ointments and BMs!
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

That was my take on it too. I wonder if anyone who started this site is still around and can tell us for sure.
