Muscle relaxant & lidocaine suppository

Postby patience_and_healing » 15 Feb 2018, 12:26

So I have these cyclobenzaprine and lidocaine (5mg/50mg) suppositories left over from doc who did my botox, and since my bum was having the hardest time with antibiotics and probiotics, I used one today an hour before having a BM. Had to resist the urge to go for a while because I wanted the medicine to take effect. So this was the least discomfort I've had in many days. TMI- It wasn't a perfect one, was pretty wide and firm to begin with, but I had no pain during or after.

Can anyone who has used lidocaine tell me if it's possible to do some damage during a BM and not be aware of it until later? That's what I'm worried about with using these. And since they do cause a fair bit of burning after melting I don't see myself using them daily.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

I used lidocaine suppositories during the worst of my fissure and to be honest they certainly didn’t stop me feeling the pain during my loose BM’s, so I’m assuming if you had hurt yourself then you would still have felt pain.

Thanks MPB, that was really helpful. I did have some pain while walking half an hour later but nothing bad. Guess I'll be using it tomorrow as well. I hope you're able to manage all right despite the new fissure.
