setback?????

Postby Guest » 21 Nov 2006, 16:23

Ok, I have been off of work for 3 weeks. I was eating and sleeping regularly and everything was fine. Yesterday was my first day back to work -- 13 hours on my feet. I still stuck to my diet and whatta ya know--rabbitt pellet poo!!!! I was so mad. I was trying to go all day and it felt like i couldn't go. This morning the same thing --rabbitt pellets followed by a fluffy BM. Now i am sore, No pain, just sore. I think there is something to be said about having a routine, i.e. eating, sleeping, BM's. My schedule is kind of weird. This week i work M,W,F -- 13 hour shifts. Next week T, TH, S, S, -- 13 hour shifts with one night of 24 hour call. and so on and so on. On workdays i get up at 4:30 or 5:30, somedays i have to be at work by 6 am and somedays 7 am. Then i am so tired after working this shift that i sleep late the next day. Therefore, i am eating breakfast at 6 to 7 on workdays and 9 to 10 on off days. Either it is really coincidental or my job may be killing me. I have even thought about changing jobs to try to get M thru F 8 to 4:30. even if it meant less money. I don't know if this is really a setback or not since there is no pain (as we used to know it) only soreness. Maybe my system is just very sensitive to change in routine. I just needed to talk. Thanks

Hey Christina,
I totally agree with you, I think routine plays a huge part in your recovery and how your body reacts.
My routine from home to work was not too much change.. i spent most of my recovery sitting on the couch - then went back to a desk job.. :|
The hours felt long, and moving around too much was not very nice, but I soon got back into the swing of things.
One thing I did notice was last Thurs night I went to the U2 concert - I was standing and walking till midnight, i was up on my hubbys shoulders for some of it.. I was screaming and yelling and singing, and top it all off my stomach turned to mush becasue i was so nervous / excited! This resulted in a lot of diareah - luckily for me it didnt cause any re-tear.. but it was a bit sore and annoying.
I find with anything that I get upset, excited over my tummy plays up anyway - i find i really need to make a concerted effort to keep calm.
See how you go for a little while, you may settle back into your unusual-routine.. if you dont, maybe then its time to think about a new job?? Image either way, atleast you have a renovated butt.. so long as the fissure has gone..

Setback. Rabbit pellet poo, followed by fluffy BM. PAIN. You are describing what I am currently going through exactly. I had had some kind of setback here. Everey morning is hell, again. I know I am convinced I need the surgery and I plan on having it the first of the year unless something major changes, and that ain't gonna happen!

Thats fantastic, Giz, we are glad to hear from you.Image Now it's only been a few days since your surgery...what is your pain like? Image I'm sure the others here, who, like me, are planning the surgery, want to know how things went the first two or three days after the surgery. (?)

BTW, you're avatar seems to say it all...if that's you, you look mighty relieved!

Again, CONGRATULATIONS -- now we nee you to pump *us* up at bit!
