Getting ready for this... People put both vaseline or coconut oil on the inside of their rear? Is that safe? I don't want my rear torn to pieces by this procedure ... any suggestions?

Are you talking about the day of the procedure or putting on the vaseline before the prep? Your rear shouldn't tear because the prep turns your stool to mush and/or water. If you're concerned about the scope causing damage, the doctor will put a vaseline-type product in before he inserts the scope.

Before the procedure, the prep is what I am talking about.

I would have thought that vaseline or coconut oil itself would lock in moisture and could be bad for fissure healing also?

I don't think that it would hurt to use vaseline during the prep, because it could save you from some of the burn of the acidic diarrhea passing through. I've never used coconut products, so have no idea how they would affect things.
