so i saw my crs today and told him i was still getting pain even with consistently soft stool. he said he did a conservative cut because i'm a woman and that most of his patients are totally healed by now. but i may need more time seeing as my fissure is 7 years old and stubborn. he didn't want to say the LIS has failed yet... he prescribed me diltiazem and said to come back after 3 months if it still hasn't healed.... i hope that is the case. i hope it just needs a bit more time, rather than me going through another surgery.

nah. loose stool = painless. but a formed soft stool causes pain.
sphincter is still too tight after LIS. and the cream hasn't helped.
think at this rate i will have to get another LIS, which i really don't want to go through again.

That's such a shame, hope you feel better soon.

I don't understand why sphincter would still be tight if it has been cut via a LIS. Do they've offer another LIS after having one already as I thought they can only cut partial sphincter muscle 30% to avoid incontenence and by having another LIS wouldn't that increase the risk of incontenence?

Hey everyone,
I noticed it has been a few months. Did any of you make a full recovery or pursue more treatment?
I'm 8 weeks post op and pretty much back to where I started, fissure is still there and now the incision from surgery has not healed. I have another follow up in 4 weeks. I believe my doctor will offer botox or more surgery if I have not healed by then.

Hello Blue belle
i understand your worries and frustrations,i've been in your shoes.in my case it took maybe 2 month for the incision to heal, fissure takes more to heal so just be patient and dont worry ,as long as there is no infection ,you still within the normal time frame.
im 5 months now and its all better.
hang on there ,you will get better .
